Elgar shines but draw looms

Elgar shines but draw looms

Dean Elgar moved in sight of a double century as South Africa A continued their first innings into the third day of their second four-day match against Bangladesh A at the Maritzburg Oval on Friday.

Wednesday's cloud burst meant that there was no play on Thursday and only a limited amount of play on Friday. A total of only 86 overs has been possible condemning this match to an almost certain draw with South Africa A finishing the day on 320 for 3.

Elgar is unbeaten on 169, having faced 252 balls and hit 20 fours and 2 sixes, with the only wicket to fall on day three being that of Farhaan Behardien for 91. The pair put on 168 for the third wicket in 42.4 overs.

Elgar and Stiaan van Zyl added a further 66 in 18.3 overs for the unbroken fourth wicket.
